Today, bluevelvetrestaurant.com would like to introduce to you How To Open/Disassemble an Xbox One Controller (Without Torx Screwdriver) (Part 1). Following along are instructions in the video below:
"This is xbox repaired diy today. I m going to be bringing you a video video about how to open up your xbox. One controller whether you need it to repaired or if you do like to do something like painting some of the panels. You can use this video to learn how to open up the controller and you don t need a torque wrench all you need is a simple flat head screwdriver.
And that should do the trick for almost everything so keep it sweet and short for you guys today. And we re going to be taking apart this xbox one controller without having to use a torque wrench. So first thing you want to do is flip over the controller you re going to want to get these side panels off right here these two side panels will expose the screws and then there s also one behind the battery pack. So you can actually take the battery pack out this is one that i haven t performed complete opening on yet so.
The paper is still intact and i ll show you how you can do that pretty easily so. What you re going to want to do so. This is go right from the corners..
.
Here. It s going to be easiest you re going to basically want to work your way up using the flat head screwdriver try to get underneath it if you can sometimes these are easy to get off other times. It can be a bit more pain gonna try to go both sides here just to pry these. As you can see goes flying off this stuff s pretty tough so don t worry about breaking it she s a little bit of muscle.
We re gonna work on the other one now bump it around get some torque on it you work from the corners. Here. It s the easiest to get it off because then you can work up one side. And you can also work up the other one at the same time.
And it tends to come off the easiest as you can see so like i said get those off put them aside and put those on back. So all right now. As you can see there s some five screws here..
.
One here one down here one over here to the right. And one on the bottom right side. And there s also one behind the battery pack. So as you can see i m going to rinse a little bit closer and what you re going to want to do to expose.
This is just kind of run your under screwdriver over the battery pack. The paper that s over the screw and you re going to feel a little indentation. There you re just going to want to poke right through it hold this and then once you do that you ll be able to reach it now just a disclaimer this will void your warranty so don t do this if your controller still under warranty or you can t afford to buy a new one so as you can see there little screw inside. There we re gonna pull that one out as well for the purpose of this video.
I ve pre loosened. The screws just to help speed up the process. So you guys have to sit here and watch this..
.
But basically you re going to be taking your flat head screwdriver and putting it into these screws now it says you need a torque wrench. But if you can get the right angle on it it should be pretty easy to get these out so. As you can see this one has already been loosened pretty good just a heads up on these as well. When you re unscrewing.
These screws you have to have the right sized flathead screwdriver in order to get the right torque on it if it s too small it ll spin. If it s too big it won t fit in there. So just be careful and make sure that you re not stripping the screws. Because then you won t be able to use them again and that would be bad all right so once you have all the screws out that are underneath the handles you re going to want to go for the final screw.
Which is behind the battery pack and that one s going to be an absolute pain in the butt to get out by the way now you continue screwing this middle one out and as you start to do that the controller will kind of start to fall apart. And you ll be able to tell that s really the last thing. That is holding it together this then will come out here and then you will be able to remove all the different parts that you need to whether you re painting or repairing and i m going to get some more videos up that will show certain repairs like this controller..
.
The right bumper button is not working. Now just a few tips here if you re having a problem getting torques on torque on the screws you don t want to hold it like this this is really inefficient actually halfway through the video. I had to put the controller down and actually stabilize the screwdriver and then just rotate the controller in order to catch that s why you re supposed to use a torque screwdriver. But we don t have one so this is the alternative which it ll work so once you re able to do that sometime.
These take forever come out put this aside with the other bolts and now pretty simple able to remove the faceplate easy it would access the front of the controller clean it up do whatever you need to do and then you can also remove the back part which exposes everything and then you re able to see possibly you know what s wrong with the controller you need to fix. It as you can see the left bumpers working here the right bumper is not something to go in there and check it out. I ll probably get another video up about that so nice and simple put it back together. The same way that you took it apart just inverse order be careful with this type of stuff does void your warranty.
Just heads up so thanks for watching don t forget to like and subscribe and i ll be able to put " ..
